Western Magazine: Little Big Dairy Co shortlisted as finalists in Australian Grand Dairy Awards

Central west dairy producer Little Big Dairy Company has been shortlisted as one of the top three finalists for their Pure Double Cream, in the 2018 Australian Grand Dairy Awards in the cream category.

The Little Big Dairy Co is a family-run farm, owned and managed by the Chesworth family.

Steve and Erika have lived on the land by the Macquarie River in central NSW their whole lives, and along with their family, they care for the 800 Holsteins that produce the naturally delicious, quality milk that goes into their products.

Twenty-four judges tasted over 400 of Australia’s best dairy products to assess presentation, texture, flavour and aroma to shortlist the top three in each class crowning them the 2018 finalists.

Convener of the Australian Grand Dairy Awards Amanda Menegazzo said was excited to announce the stellar line up of 2018 finalists.

"The awards celebrate quality and excellence in delicious dairy produce, but we also want to encourage Australian’s to take a moment to recognise the skills and dedication of the many people who craft these products,” Ms Menegazzo said.

“It’s incredible to think that the array of finalists - from spicy blue cheese to tangy passionfruit yoghurt and sweet fig and mascarpone gelato - all start with one amazing ingredient, quality Australian milk. These awards would not exist without the contribution of the passionate Australian dairy farmers who produce it.”

While the experts have already had their say, there is one award they can’t determine, the country’s favourite dairy product, the 2018 People’s Choice Award.

Dairy lovers from around the country are encouraged to throw their support behind their favourite finalist and cast their vote atpeopleschoiceaward.legendairy.com.au.

Simply by voting, consumers also go into the draw to win a year’s supply of award winning cheese!

The winning producer of the Australian Grand Dairy Awards People’s Choice Award, as well as the top product in each dairy and cheese category will be revealed in February, along with an overall dairy and cheese Grand Champion.
